Is My Comfort Zone Really Comfort and Safe?

Assalamualaikum WBT,,

It's been a while since I wrote something in this blog. I realize, the most challenging things for me to do these days is talking to myself, staying in a quiet mind where there is only me and my Lord. Then, I start asking myself, why do I feel that way? What makes me feel hard to do that? 

So, as I interrogate the situation, I found a clue, COMFORT ZONE. Me being in 'my comfort zone', doing whatever I want and like, not wanting to do more and creates something better is making me ignoring the inner calls and keep avoiding to confront myself. I don't want to think about all the things called 'roles and responsibility' that has been chasing me. I rather stay in my comfort zone. But, this world is not a place where you do what you like as you pleased. Running away and ignoring the inner calls is not fun at all. I can't live in this fantasy world forever. Yes, this world is indeed easy and I got to do what I want, whenever but it is not satisfying. I can feel deep inside I ought to do something else, something more meaningful. But that something is challenging, that must be the reason why I keep avoiding the inner calls and locked myself in this comfort zone.  

But then, after a while, I started to ponder, 'is comfort zone really comfortable? My answer is NO. It is not comfortable at all. it was just a temporary pleasure that stopping you to live in a real world. This world is a place where we do what we need to do and a place to carry our roles and responsibilities. Seperti pepatah 'Dunia ini tempat untuk kita bersusah payah, di akhirat nanti tempat kita berehat'. Hidup ummat Nabi Muhammad SAW on average between 60-70 years old only. So, how many years left for you? We got to wake up and listen to our inner calls. The heart always knows what we need to do. It's the unguided mind who betrayed you telling you thousands of excuses to procrastinate and stopping you from doing what you should be doing. 

My dear self, f you end up find yourself in this same situation, tell yourself, it is not right to stay in this zone, there are lots of things ahead waiting for you. You gonna end up losing all the opportunity of you keep locking yourself in your comfort zone. I need to re-define my comfort zone. The true comfort zone is when you successfully live your life in the right path, do what is unpleasant as much as the pleasant things. Convince yourself to listen to your inner calls, kerana itu adalah petunjuk dari Nya. Convince yourself that even though it is hard and challenging, but you must do it to get to what everyone in this world has been aiming for, Jannah.  Ultimately, convince yourself to carry your roles and fulfil your responsibilities as Hamba Allah SWT.

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْاِنْسَ اِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوْنِ

Aku tidak menciptakan jin dan manusia melainkan agar mereka beribadah kepada-Ku [51:52]

وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَنْ يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Ingatlah ketika Tuhanmu berfirman kepada para Malaikat: "Sesungguhnya Aku hendak menjadikan seorang khalifah di muka bumi". Mereka berkata: "Mengapa Engkau hendak menjadikan (khalifah) di bumi itu orang yang akan membuat kerusakan padanya dan menumpahkan darah, padahal kami senantiasa bertasbih dengan memuji Engkau dan mensucikan Engkau?" Tuhan berfirman: "Sesungguhnya Aku mengetahui apa yang tidak kamu ketahui" [2:30]

Kita adalah hamba Allah SWT, diciptakan untuk beribadah kepadanya. That is our role.

Kita dalah kahlifah di atas muka bumi. That is our responsibility.
